I make them with my granddaughter using Rhodes rolls. My mom was one of those Italian Americans in the Clarksburg area. Both grandfathers were coal miners. I also love the chili dogs from there. We got them at the Parkette(sp). Have never been able to duplicate the chili recipe though I have tried many recipes thru the internet. Love those pepperoni rolls though. Hope many will enjoy your recipe. Until reading your recipe, I put the pepperoni slices in the center of the flattened dough piece and sealed the dough around it. But after reading your recipe, I cut the pepperoni slices in strips, and did it in a couple layers and sealed the dough around it. The pepperoni rolls are awesome straight out of the oven, or with Oliverio Sweet Peppers sauce, mozzarella and provolone cheeses! In fact today I am making 48 little ones today with a sprinkle of Italian shredded cheese in on top of the pepperoni for a little different twist. We will be enjoying them with a special Italian dish....penne pasta, olive oil, tomatoes, zucchini, garlic and pecorino romano cheese. We are having a little gathering for our 14th anniversary/my birthday on Thursday. Hadn't made the rolls since we moved to FL two years ago. You can't go wrong with these rolls, so easy, fast and delicious.
