We had a pleasant weekend here in the Deep South. The temps stayed in the 70s and allowed us to enjoy some time on the sun porch and in the yard. But we'll be back in the 80s and higher this week, so I'll attempt once again to keep the oven off as much as possible. I'm even going to try to make artisan bread in the crockpot, based on this recipe from Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day website. Sounds great, doesn't it?
Anyway, here's the menu for the week:
Monday
Roast and potatoes in the crockpot
Tuesday
Mexican Pasta Skillet, green beans
Wednesday
Chicken shawarma, flatbread
Thursday
Baked potato bar (potatoes cooked in the crockpot)
Friday
Southwestern chicken on the grill, corn on the cob
Saturday
Taco salad (using leftover Southwestern chicken)
Sunday
Steak and gravy in the crockpot, mashed potatoes

That crock pot bread is the best idea I've heard in a while. I think I'll try that, too, sometime this week.
